The Ecuadorian Amazon, Napo and Coca rivers off the communities of Orellana turned dark with oil and fuel from three ruptured pipelines, due to Chevron producing the worst environmental disaster of the last 25 years. More than 15,000 gallons spilled into the rivers, affecting 35,000 people directly/ more than 120,000 indirectly. Steven Donziger, an American human rights lawyer has been fighting on behalf these Ecuadorian Indigenous people/ farmers for 25 years in an oil pollution case against Chevron. He was was disbarred on 8/13/20. These people are still suffering. The one who worked to save them is suffering too. This is the prime example of environmental injustice. Katrina reports at the scene at the Upper West Side, Manhattan NY.
